Civic Engagement Forum
Empowering Maryland's African business and non-profit community — with special guests from across government and the diaspora.
On April 18, 2024, the Maryland African Chamber of Commerce hosted a Civic Engagement Forum focused on empowering the African business and non-profit community across the state.
The forum gathered input on the Chamber's structure and on the path toward sustainable growth, giving members a direct voice in how the organization is built and where it heads next.
The gathering welcomed several distinguished guests, including Brooke Lierman, Comptroller of Maryland; Kevin Anderson, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Commerce; and Dr. Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State, Nigeria. Their participation underscored the strong ties between Maryland's diaspora community and leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.
